About the meeting 2006 – BACKGROUND
One of the key aims of Rotary, active in 163 countries, is to advance and facilitate international understanding and friendship between people of diverse cultures and traditions. With their call to »Sow the seeds of love« and »Lend a hand«, World Presidents Bhichai Rattakul and Jonathan Majiyagbe called on the world’s 1.2 million Rotarians to contribute to the enhancement of mutual respect and tolerance for each others achievements and ways of thinking.
 
AIMS
In the spirit of the Rotarian clubs’ ideal of service it is the aim of the International Friendship Meeting in Saxony to make a small contribution to peace, goodwill and understanding between people of different countries
and cultures.
Rotarian friends from Pakistan, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia,Nepal, Singapore, Korea, Thailand, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Germany will be provided with the wonderful chance to create friendships between individual Rotarians from the 14 invited Asian countries and from Germany.

Therefore the participants of the »Four Day Convention« will experience:

Various »Cultural Performances« from Asian countries and from Germany on different occasions
A most attractive Project Fair to create relationships in several professional spheres
